This is a great wine if you’re looking for something more approachable than a cabernet sauvignon, but with a little more body than a pinot noir. Notes of raspberry, tart cherry, vanilla and cedar wood are all perfectly balanced in this medium plus bodied wine.

Food pairing notes
If you ever needed a red wine that went with just about everything, this is it. Italian? Yes. Spanish? Sí. Barbecue? You betchya! This wine pairs so well with marinara sauces, smokey sauces and rubs, grilled vegetables and meats, even a raspberry chocolate cake! This wine isn’t too harsh on the tannins, and leaves just enough of a creaminess on the tongue that makes it so dang easy for any red wine lover.

Somm notes
Whenever I’ve done wine tastings with guests and clients I usually have this one as a go to. I like pouring it blind, meaning the tasters don’t know what varietal I’m giving them. They almost always have the same reaction, “This one’s good! What is it?” It quickly becomes one of the fan favorites and an easy go to for an everyday red wine.
